Care pathways

At the Poliambulanza Cancer Center, the person is not simply a recipient of care, but the point of reference around which the entire diagnostic-therapeutic pathway is built.

Multidisciplinarity represents the cornerstone of the care model: for the main oncological pathologies, specific multidisciplinary oncology teams are active, bringing together the specialists needed to jointly evaluate each individual case, ensuring shared, timely, and personalized therapeutic choices.

Each pathway is designed taking into account not only the disease, but the person as a whole, their clinical characteristics, needs, and priorities, so as to ensure continuity of care, coordination among the professionals involved, and constant support throughout all phases of the illness.

Types of cancer and multidisciplinary teams

BREAST CANCER - BREAST UNIT
Dedicated to breast neoplasms

GASTROINTESTINAL CANCERS
For colorectal, gastric, and esophageal cancers

HEPATOBILIARY CANCERS
For primary neoplasms of the liver and biliary tract

PANCREATIC CANCER - PANCREAS UNIT
Dedicated to pancreatic neoplasms

LUNG CANCERS
For non-small cell lung cancer, small cell lung cancer, and pleural neoplasms

GYNECOLOGICAL CANCERS
For neoplasms of the endometrium, ovary, cervix, vulva, and vagina

GENITOURINARY CANCERS
For cancers of the prostate, bladder and upper urinary tract, and kidney

HEAD AND NECK CANCERS
For neoplasms of the oral cavity, pharynx, larynx, thyroid, and other cervico-facial regions

NEURO-ONCOLOGICAL TUMORS
For brain and central nervous system tumors

RARE TUMORS
For the assessment of rare neoplasms and, when necessary, for coordination with regional and national specialist reference centers

For specific pathologies or clinical conditions, dedicated multidisciplinary consultations may also be activated, along with connections to the Regional Oncology Network and highly specialized centers.
